"By observing nature, I focus on bold colors and shapes. The Impressionist Painters have influenced and inspired my art by painting on location. My paintings tend to have a rich texture of impasto paint by using a palette knife. I welcome commissions and studio hours by appointment."

I am a self taught artist raised in the community of Emmett. I have worked primarily in watercolor for the last few years, and before that I used mainly graphite. My art is difficult to categorize into a genre, it is best describes as something you would see in a dream. I hope that other people will find the same joy in my work as I do.

Painting with severe RA has it's own set of challenges, but interestingly, it seems to have caused me to look at my subjects a little deeper than I did before. My hope is to capture the beauty that I see in this complex world of ours. I am currently working on a series of paintings of mothers and children. My goal is to convey the beauty of the unique bond between them.

Of his recent desert landscapes inspired by the challenging geologic forms, vibrant colors, and ever-changing moods of the Idaho/Utah area, Pirro had this to say; "This is where the earth speaks most clearly to me... the power of wind, water, and earth, create monuments that are a tribute to the amazing beauty and grandness of nature... this truly humbles me. I realize that I can't hope to duplicate nature, I can only strive to use paint in a pleasing or personal way".

My realistic paintings centre on Scottish & Celtic music subject matter. I paint & show in both countries. Lifting the viewer out of everyday life & cares, if only for a few moments, through my interpretation of the subject at hand is my work's focus. Often our choices point us in a direction negating life experience, rather than enhancing it. I work to encourage a lighter, more soulful way of "viewing" our situation on the planet.

I was a collector of Watercolor paintings while living in Alaska. We moved to Idaho in 1979 and I began taking workshops with National Art Teachers. My love of watercolor advanced into my becoming an award winning painter with paintings in numerous corporate collections, including Albertsons, U. S Bancorp and Home Federal Bank. My soft, flowing flower paintings are what I am known for, however many of my awards have been landscape and abstract works.
