I'm an artist who will take one of your pictures and make it into art for you. You can let me know what look you are hoping for, and I'll work with you to pick the best medium (oil pastel, chalk pastel, oil paint, graphite, or colored pencil).

Designed to satisfy the senses, my paintings accentuate the aspect of beauty in any subject matter. My work is realistic, expressive, full of intense color, and texture. Travel, nature, and music inspire me, resulting in a variety of subject matter. Recent paintings are life-size portraits and figures in a labor intensive style. I devote my efforts to immortalizing the subject in the perfect illusion - capturing their essence.

I'm an artist working mostly in landscape paintings with oils and also pencil drawings, but I see art in everything I do so I'm always exploring new things.

Moses Botkin is a realism painter of life, of subjects as varied as the Idaho landscape, still life close-ups, or intimate family scenes. The artist has received numerous awards and has work in corporate, museum and private collections. She is active in the Painting a Day art movement, instructs art workshops and also writes articles for Art Calendar Magazine. I began painting with my dad James Kenneth Wood, an accomplished self-taught watercolorist, who patiently took me outside and explained color, hue, and light, until I began to "see with an artists eye". Life happens, and I took a 25 year hiatus from painting, starting again in 2007. I work mostly in oils, specializing in American landscapes, particularly the Western states and Idaho.

I paint to record the memory of my movements. In doing so the ephemeral moment is preserved and the history of my process is preserved.

I paint what s close to home, what s dear to me, what has quirk or character. I find the subjects for my paintings while riding my bike through my neighborhood, picking apples in my backyard, chatting over coffee with a neighbor and walking through back alleys. Painting has helped me see things differently and pay closer attention to my surroundings and my community; that s important to me.

After not painting for more than thirty years, I rediscovered watercolor in 2003. Because I seem to have developed a passion for watercolor at a time so far removed from my early training in the medium I find that I don t remember much of what I learned. I wasn't a very good student when I was younger anyway. I m trying to be a better one now. I try to paint, at least a little, every day. I feel this urgent need to make up for lost time.

My paintings reflect my mood or interest of the hour, day or week. I find it impossible to paint one style, subject or genre for long stretches of time although most of my paintings are in oil and focus on impressionistic, figurative, contemporary or character pieces. I like change and diversity and it shows up in my work.
