Ken has worked with steel and a variety of other metals most of his life. He does both custom "to order" work and some unique pieces he has created in his "spare" time.

STARVING ARTIST METAL ART designs by RICHARD KNOX... Richard makes his home in Blackfoot Idaho. He is an avid outdoorsman. The mountains of Idaho provide abundant resources and reference material for his work. His artistic objective is to capture the reality and to recreate the drama of wildlife and the cowboy lifestyle. Richard's vision's transform a flat piece of metal into art that seems to come alive on the wall. His art has been sold and collected all over the US and Canada.

"I use steel, aluminum, & other metals, as well as a uniquely western medium -- barbed wire. Through welding and these metals, I mold my subject. I capture the illusion of soft, hard, fluffy, and many other textures in my creations. I love capturing the emotion and expression of birds, mammals, and the human form as well as mystical beings. I especially enjoy bringing the customer's ideas to life.

By day I make my living crafting one of a kind pieces of custom jewelry, primarily in platinum and high karat gold. By night I oil paint, create metal sculpture and record original music. I really should get a life one of these days.

I believe that art can not only be appealing to the eye, but also be a part in our day to day lives. I specialize in artistic furniture.

Drawn to shapes and space I also enjoy the physical activity of working with metals as much as the creativity in giving it form. When I see that I have reached a viewer's senses, be it through contemplation, humor or the inquisitiveness of being drawn to reach out and touch a piece of my art, I appreciate knowing that its inspiration and creating has been shared. My designs are original, hand made and often of found and recycled pieces.
