Claudia Whitten,
kilnformed glass artist was born in Ispwich, MA in 1952. She
started her journey in the arts at a very young age,
learning artistic concepts and terms from her mother.
Whitten's formal art training
began with art classes at Palm Beach Community College. In
1982 she took a class in stained glass and never looked
back. As her glass evolved she wanted more out of her work
in 1989 she attended a two week extensive fusing class at
Camp Colton ran by Boyce Lundstrum, and has continued her
exploration of glass thru numerous workshops with both
National and International glass artists.
Whitten has been recognized
in her field, by the Idaho Commission on the Arts with a
professional development grant in 2006, and she was a
featured artist in "New Glass Review 28", 100 top innovative
glassworks in 2007, by Corning Museum of Glass. Whitten's
glass art can be found at numerous galleries across the
United States.
